Colored Pencils + Metallic Watercolors - from guest blogger Diana Perez

Hello everyone! I'm back again with another post showing you how you can use Smiling Hippo watercolors. This time I'm going to go over how glitter and metallic watercolors are a great addition to other mediums, specifically colored pencils.

If you like working with colored pencils you'll be glad to know that glitter watercolors are a perfect addition to your works. Glitter and metallic watercolors are great for creating accent marks on your drawings so if you ever want to make certain sections or details of your work stand out, you can always use a shimmery watercolor paint.

For today's example I painted a pot inspired by ancient pottery.

I started by sketching out the pot with a pencil. Once I had the design ready, I started coloring the main areas with colored pencils.

Afterwards, I picked out my watercolor pans and started to paint the parts of the drawing that were meant to be accents.

Adding metallic watercolors to a colored pencil drawing can add dimension to your art piece. It can also add a sense of magic and glamor to a piece.

If you're ever looking for a way to spice up your paintings, I hope you consider using Smiling Hippo watercolors. Whether you use them with, pencils, markers, or colored pencils, you'll be sure to love the effect they'll bring to your paintings!
